This is not a library. It violates every one of Ranganathan’s Laws:
Books are for use.
Every person their book.
Every book its reader.
Save the time of the reader.
A library is a growing organism.
A “library” that literally closes its doors to ANY patron is a salon for fascists. 📚
Imagine the plot of Matilda if that rule had been in place at her library (which was actually in the UK in the book, but in the US in the film with @marawilson.bsky.social )!
I talked about doing this, before the copy/paste Arkansas law got injoined in court, but I don't think it will protect libraries from the intentional vagueness of the law.
