Yeah, it was a mechanical vibration of the wires in a transformer by the picture tube. Could get stupid loud. A lot of Americans my age went deaf at that frequency pretty early on. It's a different frequency in other countries.

Got an archive system for your work? My 30 years of recording and mastering digital audio are backed up on local servers in 2 different buildings, and a bunch is also on data DVDs. I can't imagine not having downloaded something I worked on.

The profit doesn't have to be in the renewables. When the cost of power from renewables undercuts dirty power by enough, and that spreadsheet turns red, all that shit is over. Saving the planet will never end carbon power. Pricing it out of the market will.

I think it was much much worse than that. He didn't think it was caused by testing. He didn't care how it was caused, or what it did to people. Testing made his numbers go the wrong way. His gut response was not address the problem, it was stop testing.
