It’s certainly a period I don’t know enough about. Interesting sidelight: Maillezais abbey, once huge, wealth and very impressive, is just down the road from me. It’s twinned with Glastonbury abbey (once ditto), and it’s just down the road from my daughter’s home. Now two ruins, hauntingly similar.
