I had journalists ask me where COVID was in the comic and I'm like "were living it???". And there were plenty of other cartoonist making work including COVID. But I guess non superhero comics don't count??? Idk, it all feels like revisionist history and putting the blame in the wrong place.

It's like how back in the day every TV show did a very special 9/11 episode. I don't think anyone liked it at the time, and they're almost incomprehensible to watch now.

HOST (literally set during the pandemic and is HUGELY affected by lockdown) was a great found footage horror movie. Did we think that movie was going to encourage vaccinations? Fauci was watching it like "this COVID thing is getting out of hand"???

haha I was just thinking along these same lines. "complicit" made me pull up like, hang on, what are we actually doing here? what are the expectations that are apparently not being met?
