My husband gets on me every time for that because I always buckle up unless I’m in the backseat of a cab or other rideshare which makes no sense but in my head it does?

I got out of cab once because there was no complete seatbelt anywhere in the back seat. In rideshares, I don’t give the security code until I’m buckled. I let the driver know I need to buckle and to please wait a sec. They CAN drive away without entering the code. Learned this the VERY scary way.

There was a pitcher for the Mets - Tom Glavine - who was a good enough athlete that they say he could have played hockey professionally. He was unbuckled in the back of a cab and needed oral surgery to fix his fucked up teeth after the cab stopped short. He’s a pro athlete. Buckle up. M

I was just never a thing in cabs when I was growing up but my husband is from Michigan and a responsible adult and driver so I have learned how to change.

It makes a little bit of sense. You can't do something all day every day and not get good at it. But the amateurs out there can still crack into you so the seat belt is never not a good idea.
