He was explicitly lying about that, though. The whole point was to assist Trump with the election. As an added bonus, he gave future Republican presidents expanded powers.

Yeah. Whether it was abject bad faith or Roberts has his head up his own ass or something in between is I guess immaterial at this point (I don't find Barrett's vote explicable except that her head is up her ass)
