There actually has been a very strong ideological shift within our most sovereign institutions over the course of our lifetimes that has led to them leveraging the law so that corruption is legal and enabled them to feed into their most authoritarian impulses over the table without fear of reprisal.

Agree. And a lot of it is being *formalized* in the past two weeks by the Supreme Court. Classic "society in decline" stuff.
