FOUND it!! I'll just keep posting in sections until I get all of it in here, okay? I'm Jodo Shinshu Buddhist. This is a typical recipe we use to make the Sata Andagi / Okinawan Dango for Obon Festival. This is how a lot of Hawaiians make Sata Andagi the rest of Hawaii calls these Malasada?

Sata Andagi – Okinawan Dango Moililili Hongwanji Temple (Hawaii) Ingredients: 4 cups Flour 2 cups Sugar 4 teaspoon Baking Powder 1/2 teaspoon Salt 1/3 cup Evaporated Milk /3 cup Water 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract 2 Tablespoon Veggie Oil (I use Sunflower Oil, nothing is bromated in that)
