What do you expect people in Africa to do? Accept that their lot is to permanently live in worse conditions than people in Europe or North America? We should be investing in renewable energy to raise living standards around the world AND cut emissions.

Didn't most OECD countries achieve these reductions by moving production/manufacturing (and therefore emissions) to non-OECD countries?

With the right policies, rich countries could have cut more, poor countries could have surged less. Net result, lower overall emissions. Poor country emissions would still have grown relative to rich country ones.
