About 1.8 billion years ago, a 10-15 km asteroid slammed into the area of present-day Sudbury and scattered debris for 1.6 million square kilometres. So how did that asteroid impact eventually lead to the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory? Let's learn more! 👇 🧵1/9

The handful of negative reviews from socially conservative readers are enlightening. If you can't engage your captive target audience, you are doing something really wrong.

A short and, happily uneventful, few years as a Canadian Reservist in the 1980's. Infantry, comms and mortars so life expectancy under 60 seconds. ;)

When I clear the gaming table of Battletech and Baron's War - slowly pulling the son in law away from 40k - I want to run some practice exercises to better understand how it all links up - 1 section vs MG34 etc

There's one set of rules where coming to grips with how to maneuver under fire changes the whole depth of the game. It's not spoon fed to the players in the rules either, it being a reasonable assumption you've read a bit of history. The rules may be moderate, the play is complex.

No IABSM which is kind of ok since they covered other Lardies/Von Reisswitz rules, or FoW which I found very suspect. I'm not keen on FoW personally but they are a big player. Anyway, as long as people are playing what they enjoy.

So many great rules out there. One of the great strengths of the historicals side of the hobby - you can use the same toys with so many different rules.

Part of that is Warlord's fault for marketing a very basic chit pull mechanic as something innovative because it uses fancy dice instead of tiddly winks and order markers. Yes I'm taking the piss, but just a bit. 😉

Watched about 2/3s of it - There are obvious errors and some old complaints about other systems that have long since been addressed.

Based on the photograph she and her daughter came from Ostrava, or passed through the labour camp at Moravská Ostrava. Deportations of Jews from Ostrava started early, in 1939. Having hope for her daughter slowly eroded over three years must have been unbearable.

As a straight cis dad driving a Subaru, which hardware store to shop has always posed a conundrum.
Agree about spooky season at craft stores, Orange and Black, I'm in! I would add the relatively rare miniature #wargamer found snuffling through _all_ the shelves muttering "Terrain?"
