Also I don't think some people realize some of the stories they love the most on the screen are based on Dick's IP. It's not my favorite writer but the man could tell a story.

The grammar of your sentence is perfectly clear to me. PKD hasn't faded, unlike many of his peers, who may have risen higher, but who have become far less relevant, for the reason you state. How do people manage to not parse that meaning out of what you wrote?
