Respectfully, I think what a lot of the country wants right now is exactly what a swap gets us: a fresh candidate. This situation is so different than 68. We all already know these guys, and people are clearly sick of Trump and, to a lesser extent, Biden. A fresh, energetic face could work.

I'm still voting for President Biden if he stays in the race, as it's the only effective way currently available to combat Donald Trump's cabal. But I truly hope he steps aside and soon, recognizing that there are potential Democratic candidates who can energize voters in this very tight election.

I don't think there's much scripture to support the idea that God cares whether you are successful or not. God is typically presented as being WAY more interested in what you give than in what you get. Generally speaking, things usually don't turn out great for those who put God first.

Early in the pandemic, I took walks in the Colma necropolis near SF almost every day. The graveyards were peaceful and almost empty of other living people. One day I stumbled upon the modest tombs of Wyatt Earp and Maddie Blaylock. Another time I bumped into Levi Strauss' magnificent crypt.

I left for the airport in LA about 5:45 AM this morning. It's 12:21 AM the next day and I'm sitting on the tarmac in Raleigh waiting for somebody to come along and move a plane blocking our gate because I guess they just forgot about us. I hate air travel.
