Channel Four News’ closing montage of the last 14 years of glorious Tory achievement is exactly why I’m finding it easier than I maybe expected to feel positive about the result. It was like a sort of rotary club You’ve Been Framed or the titles for a shit online sitcom about a pissed town council.

Weirdness outside hotel window. Some school prom where every one is rocking up in a vintage sports car, or daddy’s Porsche. Girl below on the back of a trike with a dozen hells angels doing guard of honour. The south is odd.

So it’s been a crap weekend. This little minx left the house Sat morning and didn’t come back. Turns out she had sneaked in next door while they were packing the car to go away for the weekend and hidden herself in the cellar. Can’t decide whether to hug her or strangle her. Bloody cats.

We were just recounting the one time we went to see them live… in an underground bunker in Manchester. We only found out when we got there that they wouldn’t hit the stage until 2am. Nearly cried then spent 4 hours as the oldest people at a rave

Cutter & Bone by Newton Thornburg… it’s a slice of gritty 70s California noir. Like all of this kind of thing, it’s a mixed bag. You would probably get through it in an afternoon
