Bear in mind - most of these sorts of things really are powerless: "Gold Stick in Waiting ", "Silver Stick in Waiting" "Lord High Steward" "Master of the Horse", "Bearer of the Royal Banner", "Gentleman Usher of the White Rod", "Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod".

All of those are real. But only Black Rod has any powers (they're the head of security for the House of Lords). Sometimes you run into one where there's a real job with a normal name (e.g. Lords Chief Whip) and a stupid name (Captain of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms).
