ChatGPT already has “Ph.D.-level intelligence,” in that once you remove it from its extremely narrow field of expertise (assembling words into credible-sounding passages) it is wildly out of its depth, but people vastly overestimate its authority because they don’t understand what “intelligence” is.

Great episode!! Michael Hobbes is one of like 5 cis people I trust on trans issues. My only critique is that not only is the wait list/process/whatever for transition not too short but it's TOO LONG for most people and that cannot be emphasized enough

Genuinely!! Starting HRT was the best. My life has changed in ways I never could have expected but it's been so so good. Plus, if you don't like it you can stop whenever. Taking one dose doesn't commit you to a lifetime of HRT unless you want to.
