I honestly don't see why that has to be Batman's responsibility. 🤔I don't think vigilantes should be judge, jury, and executioner. What seems so unrealistic is that a world where the Joker exists wouldn't have had him executed decades ago.

They're stories inherently about vigilantes playing judge and jury, just a little sloppy on the executioner part. Ones already perfectly fine putting the lives of countless nameless goons at risk, just not the charismatic megafauna bosses. It's a lot of effort to suddenly reject responsibility.
