I thought it was the debate performance and Willie Horton release that sank Dukakis? The tank thing, I thought, was just seen as weird and out of touch near the end of his campaign.

Idk the 538 screenshot is of the tank and “how to destroy a candidate”. I thought Willie Horton didn’t make a huge difference but was just seen as an incredibly racist ad run against him
