I’m in Los Angeles and I can’t even keep track of how many corruption convictions we’ve had in the last few years. Two councilmen were going to Vegas and collecting casino chips from developers (which is a terrible way to collect bribes, as the casinos immediately flagged it).

I'm not the first to observe that the Ur-Trump voter owns a car dealership, can't reliably get his kids to answer the phone, treats his employees like serfs, and is engaged in tax fraud of some kind

Genuinely drives me insane that when people think "corruption" they think Congress reps fundraising and not "local sheriff and Ski Doo dealer," which is truly the mean corruption in the US.
