But once it became clear to me that the Republican Party had zero public interest in mind, I decided to register as a Democrat. The party's clearly not perfect but more of its standard-bearers represent their constituencies with a real verve.

I live in what the media consider a Blue state, but I don't vote that way BECAUSE of where I live. The GOP (with its propaganda echo-chamber) relies on its base to vote on the basis of emotions, not on facts, which is why I think the Red State-Blue State dichotomy works in the GOP's favour.
