I'm pretty much of this mind as well. 1. I can't help believing that the poll samplings lean towards the MAGA base. 2. I can't believe that people WANT EVERY DAMNED DAY to be NOTHING BUT CHAOS AND HATRED!! Still, the baffling appeal of a "strong man" who will get rid of immigrants seems strong.

I experienced that once at O'Hare. Maybe a hundred feet from touchdown and the pilot gunned it back up, immediately into an approaching storm. He turned us around and landed just minutes before rain fell at O'Hare. Most definitely a jarring experience.

I live in what the media consider a Blue state, but I don't vote that way BECAUSE of where I live. The GOP (with its propaganda echo-chamber) relies on its base to vote on the basis of emotions, not on facts, which is why I think the Red State-Blue State dichotomy works in the GOP's favour.

Probably not enough, if much, has been said about how this country has been divided by the notion that states are de facto either Red or Blue. At least one generation has grown up with the idea—and I think this applies more to those who vote GOP—that "I'm from Red state" I don't vote for Democrats.
