I read a book by a well-known author and perhaps i picked the wrong one to start with but 100% of the characters in it were simply unlikeable. There were some good ideas in the book, but man, they could’ve all died at the end and i would have been fine with that.

I saw it in a theater and enjoyed it (because, yes, i knew those tropes) right up to the point where one of them asks “so what did your parents do to you?” I completely checked out right then and haven’t watched it since.
