Sure. Nobody said being president means you get an easy ride. But also, you are the president. Hire good comms people. It's not even all that hard. You need good comms people, recognize that it is important to your admin, and to follow their advice.

I mean, hell, even Trump worked out how to talk to the public without NYT intermediating. Very much to everyone's misfortune as it happens, but he did. As the president you have a very loud voice, and a billion ways to speak to the public if that is a thing you think is important and want to do.
