Would there have been a Democratic House wave in 2018 bringing in a majority with people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Or would the Bernie Sanders elements of the party have been even *weaker* since neoliberal normalcy would have been seen as the proper antidote to authoritarian populism?

More to the point, imagine what would have happened in 2020 when Covid, or something like it, hit. How would a Republican Congress, GOP state and local politicians, and likely a still 4-4 or 4-3 Supreme Court have responded to Clinton pushing executive federal action to curtail a deadly pandemic?
