It was an AFAB writer fwiw. And I do think there's a difference between what AFAB folk are societally trained to do to avoid being labelled 'assertive' etc, and deliberately infantilising yourself as a grown woman to play into some perceived online appeal. They're related, obv, but different

I talk about 'writing in the margins' and what I mean is fitting in writing in the little slips of time. Not all of us are privileged enough to have unbroken hours to dedicate to writing. One thing that has worked for me is committing to writing 100 words on the phone during bus commutes.

✨The news is out! ✨ This award, created by fellow disabled authors, is deeply precious to me & I am so honoured to be a part of it. Again though - critiquing colonial violence in fiction is worth little if we can't speak against it in real life. Here's to those who speak up.
