Thought about responses to a survey about genAI and realised that as happy as I am getting into linguistics academically, I actually have a lot of rage and grief about the fact that I am no longer able to maintain a fulfilling job as a translator, let alone one that would keep me housed and fed.

I Have a lot of similar feelings about sociology. I love it academically, and getting my MA was incredibly fulfilling, but in 3 years since graduating and I’ve not found a single job using my degree
