What I mean is there’s no daily “America at war” coverage where national news talks about battles and local news tells you the Marines who died this month from your area. Even Ukraine and Gaza aren’t on the nightly news all the time.

I’ve read Biden’s physical of my own volition and this dude is probably punching in the top 20% for BMI, pulse, etc. I’m only a few inches and pounds off the height and weight and my pulse is a little higher.

I mean “head of state” means functionally a lot less when winning an election more or less automatically appoints cabinet positions. The parliamentary system vests most power with parliaments.

From what I understand it's function of our President be an executive with a capital E, the Prime Minister of the UK, for instance, simply has a lot more bureaucracy and shares a lot more power with Parliament.

1/ I know people are crazy, but if you expect the President to be ready promptly at 9 am every day and it takes an hour to prepare (8 am wake-up time), midnight is bedtime. If you think it's a 7 am job, it's a 10 pm bedtime. No events after 8 isn't unreasonable in light of the latter.

I know people think that the Presidency makes you superhuman, but it does not. Ask anyone in emergency services what their sleep schedule is like, and they'll tell you they always need more. There are guys at the firehouse who sleep through half the shift waiting for a call.

It's unlikely we see this in our lifetime, but here's what Democrats winning 64%, or 268 House seats, similar to Labour's margin of victory, would look like. This would require Dems to win by 12%-15% nationally. The last time Dems (or any party) won so many seats was the 1982 midterms.
