There was an exclusion zone established and enforced based on the limit of ash depositions from previous eruptions. He was well within that zone.

And who was the rocket scientist that thought it would be a good idea to have someone set up within the well established blast zone knowing that an eruption was imminent? And what was there plan for getting their observer out once the eruption started? Someone's head should have rolled for this.

I had to do a double take on that second picture after realizing that he had a small jacket or something slung over his shoulder and was not talking on a cell phone. It was the eighties after all.

It's called grasping at straws since there's really no rational justification for full presidential immunity. I suppose Alito's view would change if he knew that Biden plans to have him, Kavanaugh, and especially Thomas taken out by Seal Team 6.
