That's one way we know he's really impaired. If he had all his faculties he would know he had to do that.

When people are experiencing something like this, they can get very angry at anyone pointing out that they've become impaired. I'd assume that he had been expecting Pelosi & Co to immediately deny anything was wrong with the debate, the way Jill did, and it hurt him that they did not.
