It's not ridiculous, there are groups in the house and senate discussing this serious crisis and it's very likely they will have to go to him and ask him to drop out.

Morning after the debate, both Jeffries and Pelosi equivocated. Jeffries has since affirmed support, Pelosi I don’t think as much? But it was obviously a concern among leadership, and if governors call was meant to show unity, the leaks kinda indicate otherwise. No indication this issue is settled.
