I guess that association came up b/c when I was a teenager, the people I hung out with were in that in-between state of being taken care of by parents and needing to be an adult. I guess it's SIGNIFICANTLY easier when everyone is definitely an adult now.

You actually gave me a good thought to think later on why it’s always been the opposite for me - I always deemed people capable of taking care of themselves, and that’s why it’s been easier for adult me to make adult friends!
