God that's a huge part of it. I described it as being able to see a person's soul and I wondered if I was being overly dramatic when I said that. I'm still not sure I've seen anything to contradict it.

It's hard to disentangle which is why I'm being vague about it, but I guess I mean that combination of visual appeal and associations with animal nature (freedom of contact especially) vs how it's treated in "real life" where you gotta wear clothes and go to job

On this note, I think one of the things that was hard for me to disentangle when I was a teenager was my Voluntary Belief in Creatureness. I often worried that, if I ever met my friends IRL, they'd stop being the Creature I loved. That's not true. The Creature can always be a part of us.

Another part is still unlearning certain coping strategies I had to reconcile my desired behavior with "correct behavior" esp in regards to religious upbringing (in which I mean specifically the kind that I was raised with, not necessarily in general) that I'd apparently still been clinging onto

One part is twenty years of hindsight in understanding how I, specifically, form attachments with people, rather than trying to sort advice meant for at least twenty different kinds of personalities. This is an inherent part of me I thought was burnt out a long time ago, but it's still there.

Like it's one thing to "know" how relationships actually work and it's another to implicitly believe that if you don't keep everyone at arm's length you're gonna spiral into drama and misery. "Maybe that was you being an inexperienced teenager" yeah that was part of it

More VR Chat thoughts-- I haven't really connected with people like this since I was a teenager and even if it's familiar, it's such a different experience. For one, I'm not being constantly reprimanded into thinking that basic socialization is some kind of horrible temptation.

Uhhhh... as a note, please do not use this comic to diagnose any real world mental issues. These characters have innate psychic powers and while there may be parallels, it (and the suggested fix) may not function similarly with our limited brains

I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart of all the help in getting me to the needed goal for surgery. It is now scheduled for Thursday (fret anx). I really cannot express enough how grateful I am and how amazing all of you are.

For copays I need to come up with 8000 for the aneurysm surgery to cover copays for the hospital, doctors, the immediate icu recovery and the insurance copay itself. The ongoing cardiac rehab is looking to me expensive too, but I will deal with that when I come to it

And for the extensive cardiac rehab that will be necessary afterwards. Already having a pacemaker & diagnosed with heart failure, I've not been able to do a lot of cardiac conditioning due to this aneurysm, so in a way its a blessing in disguise because it should allow for strengthening of the heart

It currently sits at 6cm in size and it's beginning to cause me symptoms that are complicating other health issues that I have. Insurance will cover the bulk of the procedure, but as with all insurance there is copays for the hospital, surgeons, recovery in the ICU

Due to my unstable health, they have put off doing interventional procedure on the aortic root aneurysm that I have. It however has continued to grow and is now at a critical point where it needs to be surgically taken care of or I risk it rupturing, which the odds of surviving that are not great.
