Yeah, the comment I had earlier about a pattern/gradient, now that it's in the context of those spectral wings, really has impact now. I can just imagine a coffee-brown going up to an almost iridescent scarlet-gold, that while the wings are out actually glows. Absolutely stellar piece regardless.

A solid 8/10. The color matching is spot on and the outfit has a nice flow. I do think a darker browns could use a touch more contrast, maybe a gradient or pattern to help with the shape language, but it's otherwise really nice.

But taking risks and doing new and exciting things is actually safer, because even if you make mistakes, you're doing something unique and interesting. I would rather play a unique game than a good one, and if you land a good game that is also unique, that's how you sell a million copies.

Honestly, I am overjoyed that good games with good game design and non-predatory practices keep winning game awards. I really hope more studios realize that "taking risks" is actually the safer path. Making a traditionally "safe" game makes it likely that it will be buried and forgotten. 1/2
