If it is a "Biden is out" situation, I think they might have to treat it the same way they would if he had passed away suddenly: Harris steps in, they rally around her, she pulls out the campaign stops, maybe makes some moves on SCOTUS (?), push until November.

would it shock you to find out that there is no process for that either. and that the closest precedent only worked because the 17th amendment directly addresses replacement of senators
