If it is too much to be expected, then we're really on our own. Why not be loud? Quiet acceptance doesn't seem like a great idea. Showing up at Dem offices and demanding a plan shouldn't be considered radical.

If a fascist political takeover is imminent, freaking out about it online isn't the most useful thing to do. Organizing in communities can be uphill when the message is considered radical: Dems could be making it explicit. Call upon them to do so. A concentrated campaign couldn't hurt.

My consideration is if the Dems convince him to step down as the likely course of action. He resigns. Office goes to Harris. It would solve a few problems: his unpopularity over Gaza and, if done gracefully enough, would give them a sympathy nod if nothing else.

If it is a "Biden is out" situation, I think they might have to treat it the same way they would if he had passed away suddenly: Harris steps in, they rally around her, she pulls out the campaign stops, maybe makes some moves on SCOTUS (?), push until November.
