I suppose having bad choices is becoming inevitable. Being a mayor of a city like NYC must be an incredibly difficult job if you are really trying to do the best things and also be an honest person. Thus, those running for the job probably don't have the best intentions to begin with.

When the nyc budget is over 100 billion a year, there's lots of shady people interested in divvying that up
