Two years ago today, SCOTUS overturned Roe v Wade. Even though we’d been warned it was going to happen, hearing the news that morning was a gut punch. The shock, anger, and helplessness I felt was overwhelming.
Today, look at how many women in America have lost a critical right. It’s infuriating.
Democrats can fix this by winning the WH, House, and Senate. They can nix the Senate filibuster, expand and pack the courts, starting with the SCOTUS. Like they could have in 2009, 2010, 2021, and 2022.
They instead stood by watching abortion rights get stripped for at least the next twenty years.
I did not realize Alaska had no restrictions. I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that local politicians can't tell women to just get in the car and drive to the next state over.
