I know it's anecdotal, but the only people I've met who oppose UBI on the grounds that it "breeds apathy", are well paid people who admit they'd do nothing if given UBI. Most of us aren't that lazy and want to contribute to society's betterment and our own personal growth.

I'm very, very, tired of immoral people forcing the rest of us to live in a suboptimal society because they assume the rest of us are as eager as they are to be our worst selves.

Those people are lying anyway, bc I guarantee they wouldn’t be anything close to satisfied with what they’d receive from UBI. They might see a small pay bump thanks to the floor going up for everyone & it’s true they don’t deserve it, but like you that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make 🤷🏻♀️
