I also think it’s that they may enjoy art, but have no conscious understanding of why it moves them, or an inkling of how it’s produced. The rich CEOs at the front of this don’t even do their own jobs! They have no concept of the iteration and synthesis that goes into art, or work in general!

Generative AI (remember Google DeepDream), word2vec, Transformer models were all born in Googles NLP & CV research so this tbh isn’t surprising. Google is basically the brain trust that cause the AI boom, and a lot of that was driven by their search teams needs.

I was a big fan of pocket tactics circa 2016ish. The pivot that took over that site was obvious from the outside, but didn’t realize it was a harbinger of corporate takeover shenanigans to come. A shame cause iPhones are such a convenient platform for bite sized strategy puzzle games.
