I'm familiar with the Peru's generally positive feelings toward Argentina (somewhat unique in SA) from having spent time there. Not sure how much is just "the enemy of my enemy..." with Chile occupying the third role? And I seems rather one sided (not sure Chile cares all that much)

allowing the quick restart while he was giving a yellow was especially amateurish. and as much as people complain about VAR - wildly inaccurate VAR is worse.... but none of it mattered as we couldn't even equal panama

Same liberator (San Martín, who was actually first President of Perú, but in Chile is ignored (at least in elementary school, where I should have heard about him)), many Peruvians used to attend university in Arg (U B.A.) so cultural ties… and Chile is resented (historically) by all 3 neighbors… +
