I understand it more when folk say that they don’t feel the people standing in elections represent them. They feel disenfranchised and so won’t be voting but when people are not interested at all, it’s perplexing.

Yeah choosing not to because you hate all the choices I understand. Not engaging, especially as a parent, is baffling.
