Thanks. It was pre-Covid. I'm doing pretty well. At this point , it's more lingering annoyances. And as I tell my husband, other people have cancer (fuck cancer!). I can deal with this.

I never worried about tick bites until I got RMSF (eastern variety) and Stari the same summer. I don't recommend it.

Yep, they learned to shinny up mine. I switched to hot pepper suet. The yard's full of pinecones, acorns, and walnuts. They can leave the feeders for the birds.

Man who works at the garden center - "why would you buy a weed?" Because it sprouts quickly, blooms early, keeps blooming into the fall, feeds all kinds of critters & bugs, and then nourishes the soil to boot. Why wouldn't I buy clover seed?

What a great idea. My rudbeckia is in front of a couple of azaleas that have never done well. (Someone's failed attempt at a George Taber Encore, I think. A bargain buy I should've trashed years ago.) I could pull the bushes out and let the rudbeckia take over.
