She Will meets your brief and is really good if you’ve not seen it. The critics largely got it right here, so don’t worry about the audience scores.

Now definitely feels like the right time to enjoy whatever freedoms you have left so knock yourself out, but an actual pirate island, broken or not and regardless of size, would be significantly cooler than the reality here.

The other shot from that day’s also pretty good. Check out Rishi cosplaying as your “average everyday guy filling tank”! Hard not to admire the “I go to supermarkets” background & the “Yes mine’s crap, just like yours” car that one of his underlings had been sent out to find that morning.

Remember this from a couple of years ago? Tried to pay for fuel and a can of coke during a ‘man of the people’ photo op, but didn’t know how a debit card worked.

3rd/lastly: My wife reminded me I wrote a short guide for one of her friends a couple of years ago. I’d be happy to send you the file but you’d be mad to share your contact details with some random bloke on social media. The screen shots below show the relevant pages- hope the print’s still readable

2nd: to explore the park beyond it’s towns, it’s good to know where you’re able to park. This website provides great hiking route guides, each of which starts with local parking advice which we’ve found helpful for getting out and about whether hiking or not.

No problem! I have some parking advice too: 1st, if you decide to visit Ambleside by car at any point, car park spaces are often hard to find a cost a fortune. You can usually park at Ambleside Cricket Club for free/a voluntary donation- it’s a 20 minute walk into town from there.

Grassmere’s lovely, but will be very busy. If you like idyllic views and don’t mind a short hike, you’re not going to be far from Castle Crag which probably has the best view:effort ratio in the Lakes- there are loads of online route guides for the walk, eg: www.walkmyworld.com/posts/castle...

Fascinating that whoever wrote this is trying to pitch the idea that girls growing up believing they can do whatever they want with their lives is a bad thing.

Far from ideal, but you should be able to find an adaptor that’ll plug your headphones into the power port easily enough if it didn’t come with one

Darren’s love of country almost entirely stems from how little he knows about it- he doesn’t want to know who built Stonehenge, or how London 1st became a city, or even how his home town of Consett came to be a town. I doubt he even knows his family name’s Norse.

Glastonbury tickets were £49 when I first went in 1992 (assuming you bought a ticket rather than jump the fence)- roughly equivalent to £130 in today’s money. This year’s tickets were £360 which must prevent a lot of younger music fans from being able to attend.

Assuming it’s still on display, have you seen the Roman crocodile skin armour? Wild to think some guy was stomping around Egypt wearing it in the 3rd century.

Quite understandable in 2024- I doubt there are many dairy farmers who are thrilled with it themselves. Despite that, I can also understand why someone who’s been farming cattle since the 50s wouldn’t appreciate a rock star campaigning for something they believe puts their livelihood at risk

Are you referring to his views on badger culling? I’d be surprised if there was a dairy farmer in the UK who didn’t feel that way, if so. Bluedot is indeed still a thing, but they’re taking 2024 off - back next year. Green Man and End of the Road are both great options too in the UK.

It would have been quite a leap for Verhoeven to have gone with an ACAB storyline in 1987. 5 years before the LA riots and pre-global internet, I doubt he’d have been able to get the idea funded, given public perception at the time

Back in the day a handful of private/public schools taught ‘Received Pronunciation’ which is often assciated with having a privileged background (not sure RP’s still taught anywhere today). There aren’t any other accents linked to class beyond that- our accents are regional.

He’s possibly not the easiest Kaiju to get behind if you subscribe to the theory that he’s a metaphor for nukes and/or the US, although I imagine it’s been a fair old while since a Godzilla movie was made with that in mind.

Having seen them last night, I can assure you that watching Dana Carvey knocking out 5 minute polyrhythmic gong solos is actually a great way to spend an evening (the guy who had to sweep the stage with a lint roller before they came on also did an excellent job).

Post a perfect album from the 1990s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden or Alice In Chains You know, that sounds like an exercise in futility for folk like me. How about I post a bunch of perfect albums and you agonise over which of them should be the one? 🎧

It’s good he was kicked out based on what I read of the investigation. Beyond that you might be right, I don’t know. Regardless, I sadly doubt there are many parties anywhere who’ve not at some point had members accused similar things- do you feel much the same way about them or is it just Labour?
