(mind you, there's a fine line trying to prove the difference between that and intentionally not looking because you think there's a chance you will find something disproving, so I wouldn't go into things intending to find a cutoff specifically for defamation defense 🤷)

(as for my personal take? Barring lots of new information, he definitely did it, and the reporting was unnecessarily misleading, I can't help but think the number of people coming away with inaccurate understanding of ultimately irrelevant facts was an intentional choice)
