seeing a handful of folks respond to the neil gaiman allegations with some version of “i knew it bc he married amanda palmer” and while i’m all for dunking on amanda palmer (who SUCKS) i just wanna mention abusers can surround themselves with kind and lovely people and still do abuse too ✌️

Can I ask - too fearful of going down internet rabbit holes - what is the big problem with Amanda Palmer, who I know nothing about? Was there something about crowdfunding an album that she reneged on or are there other skeletons in her closet?

Yea I consider his shit with Palmer for sure part of the general 'there was whisper stuff around him long before this' but using who an abuser married as 'proof' doesn't help

I have a friend whose ex-husband is in prison for SA'ing his second ex-wife. He SA'd her too. My friend is one of the sweetest people I know. When they were married I remember her telling me "he's gruff but he's a good person" but, she did that because she was literally trying to protect herself.
