Nothing beats a garden-grown tomato, but I tried indoor hydroponic gardening to see if I could have ripe cherry tomatoes year-round and it’s extremely easy and the fruit is significantly better than anything store-bought. I’ve been very pleased.

Yep, I’ve had this happen a handful of times. Once with PayPal, once with a school account, and once w/ a store account which could have been intentional. I tried really hard in particular to get the PayPal & school accounts resolved, because those seemed really important. No luck.

I work remotely from home, but my company is HQ’d in SF. We had our town hall today and the CEO casually mentioned how “everyone seemed to be coming down with the summer cold” right now. I immediately knew it was Covid, before I even saw this article. Why are we pretending that Covid doesn’t exist?

Same. I see (well, saw back when I was on FB) lots of my family commenting this type of stuff on these types of posts. I’m sure some of them are bots, but most are probably actual humans that fall for this somehow…

Yes! When I was a people manager in a company with “unlimited” PTO, I monitored time off quarterly and when members of my team weren’t taking enough time to recharge (at least one week a quarter), I would encourage them to take some time off. (I NEVER worried about people taking “too much” time.)

Yes. The only people actually calling these places are: 1. People without access to or knowledge of how to use a computer who CAN’T make online transactions, or 2. People who need to do something that can’t be done online. Telling people they can transact online is not helpful in the year 2024.

I’m super weird but actually like them! I love how clean my mouth feels afterwards. But, I’ve never had any dental complications so I think that helps a TON w my general perceptions.

A friend of mine, who lost a young child, has been installing/maintaining grief-focused little libraries in local cemeteries as a way to keep her son’s name alive and help other families cope with grief. They get quite a bit of use.

If you're reading these posts and wondering what exactly everyone means by "regulations" and "comments," I'll put a mini-explainer in this thread. Congress passes laws, right? And so do state legislatures and local equivalents (city councils, etc.). But there's more to law than legislation.

I, unfortunately, usually end up on their text lists, and they’ll text from different numbers each time. I can’t tell you the insane numbers of texts I got from one R candidate in particular when I blocked every single number immediately. Fortunately, he lost his primary.

I didn’t realize you could get your MMR checked. I certainly don’t expect answer from you as I’m just a random stranger on the internet, but I’m curious: were you able to do this at your primary care doc, or at a pharmacy, or was it something special that you ordered through something like Labcorp?
