Hypertension nurse seen, now in the hospital for a routine ECG (standard procedure for people newly diagnosed with high blood pressure, no concern). Receptionist said "it's busy" and also "shouldn't be a long wait" so... Place your bets now! Book signing tour this afternoon...

Watching "Freaks and Geeks" again, and I think it's probably the best US comedy. The characters feel real and nuanced, it's low stakes but feels high stakes, and it's genuinely really funny without dreadful "oops aaawkward" or "quippy" gags. If you've never seen it, DO SO.

i'd be tempted by the drugs! unfortunately though, I have had gout since my mid-20s and I think a lot of blood pressure meds are not good for that. Hopefully there is a solution, as neither condition is good!

1/2 Since finding out I have high blood pressure about 3 weeks ago, you may be surprised by how much difference a few lifestyle changes make! I've upped my exercise, cut out caffeine entirely, lowered my salt, lowered my booze.
