Anyway, any tips on what TV my inlaws should buy? They want 65ā€, no more than Ā£800, probably decent volume cause theyā€™re half deaf - thereā€™s loads of stuff on Currys, LG? Samsung? Anybody who knows what the best deal is? You can come back to me for advice when youā€™re buying your next mandolin!

There was a leopard and it looked like theyā€™d gone mad with the ā€œembossā€ effect in Corel Photopaint like every album sleeve that one week in 1995.

Yeah I watched a big Hollywood movie once on a screen that was stuck in a mode that made it all look like a behind the scenes documentary shot for local TV, very odd.

those gritty BBC dramas hit different when everyone looks like theyā€™re made of fabric and their heads are pulsing with light and the policeman looks like a flat piece of card about half an inch infront of the screen is this how you all cope with so much shite on the box? tripping on the visual FX?

Iā€™m coeliac so Iā€™ve been told to avoid May Contain. Sometimes if I get an assurance from the manufacturer there are controls in place and itā€™s just a legal / testing thing I feel confident taking a controlled risk, but here thereā€™s no further information :(

I went to Currys and all the cheap TVs looked amazing, and the really expensive ones sort of looked odd and unnatural, like if there was black it looked like actual oil pooling across the screen and everyoneā€™s eyes were glowing

Why donā€™t you try no wheat, no oats, nada strict for like two weeks and then come back here and tell me how dodgy your guts are. Seeds, nuts, fruit all good. Everyone is different, but itā€™s really working for me.

No, because annoying it still contains cowā€™s milk and wheat gluten - see the second picture! Very frustrating.

Just makes me really ill to have more than one or two bites, cause of the high milk content, and I donā€™t much like dark. I do love Bouja Bouja but at those prices (Ā£6 for 8 tiny truffles) I donā€™t indulge often. There are some soya and nut things coated in a fake chocolate I can tolerate.

Ah yes old school veggies, apparently they call them ā€œovolacto vegetariansā€ now to distinguish whether or not they eat eggs or milk.

I really like oat milk, but I had to eliminate it because of the avenin, made a huge and instant improvement to my IBS-like symptoms to remove as many cereals as possible from my diet.

Iā€™ve had other brands and no itā€™s not great. The best remaining chocolate I can eat safely is the ludicrously expensive Bouja Bouja stuff.

Back then, before *everything* was connected, a well setup 98 or XP machine could last forever. I could do everything you would ever want offline. Ran 24 tracks of super smooth audio in a DAW, could edit print quality images up to about 1200dpi. No bloat, no bollocks.

My mate figured out the technical reason for this, to do with conflicting versions of FAT. In effect a clean install of Win 98 was substantially different from a 95 to 98 upgrade version, which I think was sold on a different cd rom.

When I setup my 1st (non-internet PC) for editing photos and mastering music to cd I had an old windows 95 boot floppy for the cdrom drivers, and to format the hard disc, then my mates 98 disc. It would sort of install but windows would be an absolute mess. Eventually worked using a proper 98 floppy

its the video that came free with Windows 95 - we watched it over and over again because it was amazing to see a video on a computer screen - even though it had like 8 pixels

Wow, Ridley Scott is really drawing me in with the ā€œeconomic senseā€ of the Gladiator sequel. Iā€™d hate to watch a film that didnā€™t have a sound commercial grounding. That, and plenty of those ultrahigh definition pixels. And channels of sound, the more channels of sound, the better.

I think some people technically consider any framework or philosophy an ā€˜ideologyā€™, but thatā€™s not the meaning I understand from political research. And I was clear in my message when I said ā€˜political ideologyā€™. But *everytime* someone comes at me over it!

the guy tried to crowd fund a movie to conclude things, but it must not have got off the ground and of course everyone is probably a bit to old to reprise the parts - maybe the zombie makeup and a bit of CGI would help but it would be pushing it!

I previously replaced the broken tuners, which required a lot of work to get modern tuners to fit, new nut and bridge, various new screws and brackets, and reset the neck to a new angle using rosewood shims which was an exciting experiment for me. Itā€™s tuned in low GDAE with thick nylon core string

a light clean and a new armrest today gave this ancient banjolele a new lease of life - I restored it a couple of years ago from a pile of scrap and tuned in 5ths like a tenor banjo it packs a real punch, nice and portable too

I sometimes get this challenge that an absence of ideology is itself an ideology - but I donā€™t agree. An absence of doctrine is not a doctrine, an absence of beliefs is not itself a belief. Absence of ideology is certainly a *philosophy* , and I think some definitions of the words overlap.
