In addition to thinking they'd gain fame very quickly, you could also think a younger candidate with a less stressful job could hit the campaign trail much harder (or do especially well in the swing states where some of them just won elections)

And like he says, sure, if he was all-in, his family might well be hailed as an exemplar of MAGA diversity, but it's a little hard to top "if I don't like your political views my go-to is to send you pictures of your daughter in chains". Wtf

They can't give that answer because Stefanik isn't the main character from Memento. It would be ideal if that was their policy but it in fact isn't.

Not sure I agree with either of you. The reason the college presidents couldn't say "we have first amendment principles always and everywhere, except when it turns into narrowly defined harassment, and where that has happened, we'll do something about it" is not that they're dumb and Stefanik evil.

The sloppy rollout didn't cost them anything since Ted Cruz jumped on most of those grenades for them. But yeah Pelosi was pretty clear merely passing the bill would lead to an R sweep and apparently she was ok with that Trouble is you have to be willing to say you'd rather this than anything else
