I’m holding out for Star Trek transporters… Slightly more seriously I think climate neutral is probably going to mean biofuels or something like that (so circular emissions), but per person emissions scale inversely with passenger density. So with my claustrophobia, I don’t think there’s ever gonna

Oof. The older I get the more I'm with McCoy, not wanting his molecules scrambled all over the galaxy... that one scene in the first movie is about enough to give me nightmares still, before I even think about the "is it still me when I'm reassembled from scratch" questions

My gf (now wife) once asked me why we haven’t invented teleporters and I told her that we already have. She was like “why don’t we use it then?” I said sadly teleportation requires entanglement resources something or someone has to be turned to slush to enable teleportation to occur. She was sad.
