Do I need to hack Thirsty Sword Lesbians so it can handle a galaxy far far away (which includes the Locked Tomb series), or does it handle that in the text?

You could do it if you really wanted to, and if that's the type of game you wanted to focus on. I'd also suggest at least looking through Impulse Drive, another PbtA title that's more geared toward sci-fi. If nothing else it might give you some inspiration.
